Home Office Weekly Updates
23rd- 29th May 2022
This week the big news story is that over 1 million long term immigrants settled in the UK. This was identified within a mammoth week of statistics and data on immigration produced by the ONS and Home Office. A total of 22 policy document and datasets were produced including changes to methods of calculations on long term migration, irregular migration into the uk and details of everything from numbers of passports issued to asylum applications
To review all the data will take significant time to assess the mass implications of growing immigration numbers on the UK.
Adding to those numbers will be an update that over 140000 visas applications have been made to Ukrainians with 129000 issued and data on the EU Settlement scheme immigration volume remains huge in the UK.
Also of interest will be the IICSA report on exploitation of children in residential schools and details of the governments county lines programmes.
