Home Office Weekly Updates

30th May- 5th June 2022

The Jubilee celebrations for Her Majesty the Queen allowed a brief and welcome respite in the volume of Home Office reports and data we have seen as of late.

Nevertheless, the Home Office published two news stories to promote their Rwanda returns policy and promotion of open Britain through a points based system. The first stated migrants have been handed final notices, but not how many. The second targeted graduates from top universities to be granted visas to remain in the uk after studying.

The Home Office also produced the Migrant journey: 2021 report and datasets. This is a key document to understand how many asylum applicants granted visas, those granted work visas and leave to remain status remained in the uk after they were granted. The data shows high trends of the use of family visas to remain in the UK. This research will be additional to the mass data dump of immigration research last week.

He strongly believes his background and route through life enables him to understand both the needs of communities affected by immigration and the life of immigrants who have settled in the UK. He passionately believe Britain is not a racist nation, but a fair one where all can live but policies need to address the inequities in society and the impacts of immigration both positive and negative.
