Home Office Weekly Updates

9th- 15th May 2022

This week the Home Office’s flagship policy to stem the tide of Channel Migrants dominated the data and daily publications. The headline news story covered details of the first illegal migrants facing removal to Rwanda, details of the Rwanda Migration partnership and the issuing of guidance on Rwanda country policy information, an attempt to get ahead of the potential legal claims to stop the process working.

Collection data is the Home Office method of collating analysis and research on areas under it remit. This week saw a mammoth release of such collection updates on EU migration, immigration, crime, policing statistics. In addition we were provided with a large data dump of statistics and data on the Fire services and fire related incidents.

Plenty of data on Ukraine Schemes from numbers of visas applied for to the processes required for satisfying any of the various schemes to help Ukrainian refugees was provided. and other topics of modern slavery, national security, fraud were also touched upon this week.

Finally, the introduction of a new bill on state security is likely to provide a great deal of inspection in particular where it impacts on individual freedoms.

He strongly believes his background and route through life enables him to understand both the needs of communities affected by immigration and the life of immigrants who have settled in the UK. He passionately believe Britain is not a racist nation, but a fair one where all can live but policies need to address the inequities in society and the impacts of immigration both positive and negative.
